the affordability, proximity to the Zoo & Heuston Station were the reason why I choose the hotel. The Hotel room was clean and confortable no luxury but I felt that the €75 charge was appropriate for what I was getting.
The reception was poor, the light in the landing wasn't working & the water in the shower was luke warm at 07:30am, the absence of a bath was also a minus.
Booked this hotel to go to a concert in Croke Park. 3 mins from Hueston station - Luas takes you into city - €1.50. Delighted with this accomodation and would happily recommend it to others!!
We stayed overnight for the recent Take That concert and were not disappointed. The young man in reception was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, modern and very clean. Hueston train station, the Luas tram system and bus stops are within a short walk which made it very handy for the city centre. The tram costs only €1.50. We would definately stay again.
My room was extremely quiet, which was great for me to get a night's sleep in a city hotel. Plus, I was able to store my bag for the day, which was great before getting a train home in the evening. The location was excellent, near Phoenix Park and Heuston Station.
There was a bit of a 'Fawlty Towers' feeling about the place when I arrived, nobody at reception and little attention to my needs. The room just felt 'run down' with a missing light bulb, faulty or poor fittings in the bathroom and considerable noise from the bathroom fan. A bit of a stink off the new carpets and in a corner of the room and there was no wi-fi.
The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. It's bit outside of the city center -- but a quick ride on the nearby Luas station at Heuston Station and you're in the city center. For the price, it was great.
The booking website bragged about having internet -- something the hotel did not have. As a business traveler, this was a total inconvenience. There wasn't even internet in the lobby or a business center. The hotel staff said that the hotel just reopened after a renovation and they are working on installing it.
Close to railway station Value for money Helpfull staff Basic but we paid for what we got Luas line nearby
Toilet/shower was small but was fine for us. If you are a person that has problems with your walk, there are three steps up to toilet. If you are a larger person it would be a tight fit.
Very good staff and very good location, reasonably priced..
Great hotel staff, perfect location, very ner to train station and bus to the airport, very near to tram stop.
Actually in my room was not internet connection, so sthis was th only one small minus.
Its proximity to Heuston railway station and the Luas tramway
The staff were willing and able to help in every way necessary and very professional and pleasant - very approachable
Phoenix Park Hotel is a family run hotel and this is reflected in the very friendly manner of the staff. Although we booked it to be close to a family member in the Mater Hospital; I would not hesitate to use it again when staying in Dublin. It is spotless clean and airy. Small intimate bar and cafe/bistro. For visits to the Phoenix Park/Dublin Zoo you would need to book into the Zoo itself to get closer. Ideal for a family day out in this regards. The Luas tramway and intercity rail services as well as bus services are all on your doorstep here. Dublin Airport Bus shuttle service runs from in front of rail station less than 5 mins walk away. A gem of an hotel.
As I entered the room the first thing I noticed was a strong stench of urine coming from the ensuite bedroom. I the sat down on the bed and noticed that the bedcovers had a very strong stench of body odour. I find it hard to believe this place is still in business!
First time visiting dublin, we both enjoyedour weekend experience!staying at phoenix was close to train station and trams! As we nare not use to trams being from glasgow, we took a bus near one of the hospitals to , alsinto the town on the fri night! I loved the cider! Tried guiness! Not so keen, we went to one of the pubs and had a good laugh with the locals! As for hotel, we had a lovley irish breakfast sun morn and the staff very helpful and frendley and booked a taxi after checking out, to get us to the airport!
Nothing negative to say! Only the building next door is a law courts! However, didnt put us off, last night staying a little noisy, as we get that anywear on a sat night!overall we had a fantastic time.defenateley be back! 2 days is not enough.
The hotel is very convenient to the train station for those going / coming to western Ireland. Rooms on two stays were nicely remodeled.
Very short on staff. Desk personnel wait tables in the restaurant, cook and wait tables at night (very limited menu) - the cook in the morning cooks, waits tables and does front desk duties. The room on one of our stays was dirty, had no toilet tissue, no towels and was very small.
Convenience to Heuston Train Station and great value for a short overnight trip. Would come back again next time to stay in Dublin
